What does it mean when we state the condition of the guitar as mint or excellent?  Read on. 

Standard Grading Terminology

 

 New  Factory New.
 New Old Stock  New but manufactured long ago, possibly out of production.
 Dead-Mint  As new, dealer showroom quality, no scatches  
 Mint  Minimal wear and tear. Original parts and case (unless otherwise stated)
 Excellent  Well cared for but played. Fine condition with no major blemishes, just possible minor wear, finish cracks or changed parts. 
 Very Good / Good / Fair  Played.  Subjective grading based on extent of blemishes.
